Tottenham Hotspur V Burnley Kane Penalty Secures Narrow Victory

Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley: Kane Penalty Secures Narrow Victory

Match Summary

Tottenham Hotspur moved back into the Premier League's top four on Wednesday with a 1-0 victory over Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Harry Kane's contentious penalty in first-half stoppage time proved to be the match-winner.

Burnley started brightly and had chances to take the lead, but it was Tottenham who opened the scoring in the 45th minute. Kane was brought down in the penalty area by Ashley Barnes, and the England captain coolly slotted home the resulting spot-kick.

Burnley pressed for an equalizer in the second half, but Tottenham held on for a narrow victory. The Clarets were unlucky not to level in the closing stages when Jay Rodriguez's effort was cleared off the line by Davinson Sanchez.
