Bengaluru FC's AFC Cup journey came to an end in the final, as they went down 3-0 to Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur City FC. Despite the disappointing result, Blues coach Simon Grayson praised his team's efforts throughout the tournament.
A Dream Run Ends in Heartbreak
Bengaluru had defied the odds to reach the final, overcoming some of Asia's top clubs along the way. However, they were outclassed by a clinical KL City side who dominated the match from start to finish. Hodak was gracious in defeat, admitting that his team had been outplayed.
"It was an unbelievable success for us to reach the final," said Hodak. "We played against some of the best teams in Asia and we showed that we can compete at this level."
Despite the disappointment of losing the final, Hodak remained positive about the future. He believes that the experience will only make Bengaluru stronger.
"We have a young team with a lot of potential," said Hodak. "We will learn from this experience and come back stronger next season."
Bengaluru's AFC Cup run has been a memorable one. They have shown that they can compete with the best in Asia and they have given their fans plenty to be proud of. The future is bright for this young team.
